Water & Sanitation Project with Economic Impact in Ghana
Global Grant 24-60049, Water and Sanitation with Economic Impact in Ghana will drill 36 new wells, provide 2 small-town water systems, and build 294 biofil composting toilets for communities. We will administer micro-credit loans for wells and household toilets. 20 farmers and small businesses shall receive lending support to boost their business. This will improve the economic strength of our communities. The budget is $195,562. This project is jointly hosted by Rotary Clubs of Obuasi and Kumasi in District 9104 in Ghana. The lead Rotary Club is Obuasi. Our team will impact 30,360 lives. This project exceeds our goal of impacting one million lives cumulatively through previous projects.
Your Rotary Club funds will be matched by Rotarians in 26 Rotary Districts, Australia, 4 Canadian Provinces, Ghana, Scotland and 15 US States. Past President Abdul Mumin Tahir from Rotary Club of Obuasi is the primary contact for this project. This partnership will also strengthen relations between Rotarians in across the world.
All communities will provide local leadership, labor and funding. The communities will raise over $800 toward new boreholes.
