Our Projects

For nearly two decades, the District 7610 Strategic Water Alliance (SWA) has partnered with Rotary clubs and communities around the world to create sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions that transform lives. What began in 2007 with a single borehole project has grown into an international effort spanning seven countries, completing 53 projects that have provided safe water, improved sanitation, and better health for more than 100,000 people. Together, SWA and its Rotary partners have invested more than $1 million in projects that empower communities for generations to come.

Every SWA project delivers benefits far beyond access to clean water. Women and girls—who often bear the responsibility of collecting water—gain valuable hours each day to pursue education, earn income, care for their families, or become leaders in their communities. Children are healthier, attend school more consistently, and are better positioned to succeed. Families experience fewer waterborne illnesses, reducing medical costs and increasing productivity. Reliable access to clean water also fuels local economic development by supporting agriculture, small businesses, healthcare facilities, and schools, helping communities become healthier, more resilient, and self-sustaining. By working alongside local Rotary clubs, community leaders, and residents, SWA ensures every project is community-driven, sustainable, and built to create lasting impact.
